Salt Spring Island is one of British Columbia’s Gulf Islands. Situated between Vancouver Island and mainland BC it is a popular vacation spot due to its’ mild weather, beautiful scenery and large number of artists and crafts people. Wild deer abound in the park like setting of the island and often visitors and locals alike can be seen feeding them.

Summer finds Ganges Harbour filled with boats of all descriptions that have made Salt Spring their destination or a layover as they cruise northward. Summer also brings out the local artists and crafts people to display their goods in the local farmers market.

Salt Spring can be reached in a number of ways. Vancouver on mainland BC and Victoria on Vancouver Island both have International airports with Vancouver’s being the largest. From Vancouver International you can get a shuttle to the South Airport and catch a float plane to Ganges operated by Seair Seaplanes (800-447-3247, 604-273-8900) or Harbour Air Seaplanes (800-665-0212,  250-537-5525) or Saltspringair (877-537-9880, 250 537-9880).
